What’s up guys and girls, back again for our weekly round-up of results for the 4v4 Core league for the Premiership, Championship and Division One! Has there been any more fire in the works this week with some more surprise results? Well let’s get cracking and find out.

Multiplay Premiership:

Starting off the Premiership this week with an early Monday fixture between aD and TLS:E, saw aD take this match in two clear maps, in what seemed to be a walk in the park for the new comers this season, winning both maps in a very convincing manner. TLS:E are still without a win and are looking to be relegated this season if they don’t pick their A game up quickly! aD now sit joint top on 9 points with TEC, having not dropped a map at all.

The next match in the Premiership was a mid week game on Thursday, which saw a strong looking TEC team take on runners up from last season BeM:T. TEC again surged on to win in another clear cut 2-0 win, beating BeM:T without too much of a problem. It’s a perfect start for TEC who haven’t dropped a map yet this season, however for BeM:T it’s not going well at all, having lost two of their three games now, they now find themselves in 6th position in the table.

Next up was another mid week fixture on Thursday, where both DR and BTR were eagerly searching for their first wins of the season after losing two games on the trot. DR was the team who rose to the challenge, beating BTR 2-1, winning both CTF maps thanks to two strong performances, but losing out on SnD 4-2. BTR need to get a win on the board in Week 4, else they will be fighting for survival to stay in the Premiership by the end of the season. Will we now see DR go on a winning streak and challenge for a T3 finish?

Finally for the Premiership was another Thursday fixture which saw Total Anarchy take on the last two seasons champions, vT:A. Unfortunately for TA, vT proved to be too much for them to handle, losing 6-0 on Dome CTF, however, TA did almost manage to clutch an epic SnD Underground victory after being 3-1 down, but just couldn’t clinch it in the final round. After this result vT:A continue their win streak putting them 3rd in the table due to round difference, whilst TA sit in 5th position with 3 points to their name.

Championship:

Moving on to the Championship results now we see a match-up between BeM:I and ExG on Wednesday, and ExG will have been going into this match as favourites to win after their last two results of winning 2-0, compared to BeM losing and winning a game in their previous two results. ExG did not disappoint, beating BeM 2-1, winning both CTF maps but losing out on the SnD map. With this result it now puts ExG joint top with vT:C, whilst BeM:I now sit mid table in 5th.

Also on Wednesday was a game between the struggling side of TXG, and possible title contenders, TG. Unfortunately for TXG their run of bad form continues another week, losing in a straight 2-0 defeat. With this loss they sit joint bottom with VnG, whilst TG hold onto 3rd place with 6 points.

Sunday night was the start of the next game for the week, a match that saw vT:B host against fellow bottom of the table team, VnG. Both teams have gone without a win in their first two games of the season, and after losing out to their friendly rivals vT:C last week, vT:B will have been looking to get straight back to winning ways! And they did not hold back against VnG one little bit, beating them in a very strong performance in two straight maps. Regrettably for VnG, this result keeps them rock bottom of the Championship without a win or a map won.. but for vT:B it puts them in 6th place now.

Last game of the week was also on Sunday, and saw a close game between SaS:TV and vT:C unfurl. A summarised report of the game can be found at the end of the weekly report.

Division 1:

Last of all we finish with the Division One round up, starting off with a Wednesday night fixture between DoW and struggling team ReVz. It is with disappointment that I tell you DoW was entitled to a default victory, due to ReVz not turning up for the game... not good enough lads. Not what we want to see at all in what has been a great season so far.  Let’s hope we don’t see any more default wins handed out by anyone this season! By the by, this result puts DoW three points clear at the top of the table, who now seem to be the team to beat this season.

Moving on to the next fixture of the week was a close match between iG:FER and UKF:J. UKF had lost both of their first two games so far this season, where as iG had managed to win one and lose one. Judging by those results, you would have thought iG would have managed to win this game; on the contrary, it was in fact UKF who were able to pull off a 2-1 win, which is a great result for them to get their first win on the board! Both teams now sit 6th and 7th in the league on three points, with the exact same round difference as well. Could that result prove crucial by the end of the season?

The next fixture of the week was also a Thursday night one, a showdown between TLU:M and TeG:S, both teams having won and lost a game each, making the outcome of this result as unpredictable as Rossco’s dancing.... It was TLU who emerged victorious, winning the game two maps to none, propping them in a very nice 2nd position in the table, whilst TeG:S stay mid table in 5th.

Last but not least, our final fixture of the week was played between Egg:T and FL4W:A, a game that saw FL4W looking for their third win in a row for the season, whilst Egg will have been wanting to carry on from last week’s first victory against ReVz. Egg:T went out all guns blazing, beating FL4W in a clear two map victory, winning 4-1 on CTF and 4-1 on SnD. This result has made the table so close now, with TLU:M, Egg:T and FL4W:A all on the same amount of points, only separated by round difference. Every result will play a big factor in which of these three teams will place higher than the other.

Match report from SaS:TV vs vT:C:

Virtual Talent: Charlie vs. Secret Assassins Syndicate: TV
WGL 4v4 Core Premiership Week 3
Rosters:

Virtual Talent                                                                                                                 SaS:TV

vT Stevo                                                                                                                        XTFVFinner
vT Taxman                                                                                                                  JimmanyBillyBob
vT Davey                                                                                                                     Tripl3 Vodka
vT Kryptonite                                                                                                             M4 Ultimate Sam

CTF Dome:  1-0 vT

Both teams started off fairly aggressively, each claiming their own kills, it was vT however who were able to get SaS three men down and pull the flag through middle map, and some great cover work by Davey and Kryptonite led to an early flag cap for vT after just one minute gone.

For the next three minutes it was very even between the two sides, with both teams each killing their fair share of people. Eventually, vT were able to pull the flag with a minute and a half on the clock after getting SaS three down once more, however, Stevo had no support and was taken down immediately as SaS spawned up. Out of nowhere Jimmany had managed to sneak into the vT base, and it was only thanks to Joker getting a clutch two piece that the flag was able to be returned by Kryptonite.

Thirty seconds later both teams pulled each other’s flag again, only for both teams to instantly be able to return their respective flags.  End of the first half came to a close with vT maintaining their 1-0 lead, both teams doing some nice slaying.

The second half began in favour of SaS, having claimed first blood and picking up most the kills in the first minute, and it paid off for them, with M4 Ultimate Sam and Tripl3 Vodka both picking up nice two pieces to get vT four men down, they had an easy flag pull and cap to now tie the score at 1-1 overall.

It would seem that the flag cap had really spurred SaS on to get another, as they were able to get vT three men down and thanks to XFTVFinner coming into Dome from behind, he was able to get the flag out. Not however, without the not so famous barrels that lie in Dome, killing Finner and also Joker shortly afterwards in an unfortunate double barrel explosion.

This led to Jimmany being able to pick up the abandoned flag and run it straight through middle, and thanks to some nice covering fire by Ultimate Sam and Tripl3 Vodka again, vT found themselves on the back foot, now being 2-1 down overall.
vT thought they may have had a flag of their own straight away though, thanks to Davey picking up a nice two piece and pulling flag out of loading, only to run into the waiting trap of Ultimate Sam who had positioned himself excellently to return the flag and take down Davey.

With little over two minutes remaining Davey and Stevo did a great job of pushing the flag, taking down two, and thanks to some great slaying on the cut off points by Davey and Joker, it enabled Kryptonite to run and cap the flag to square things up again to two flags each.

Both teams proceeded to then pull each other’s flags for the next minute, and a nice frag by Tripl3 Vodka took down Kryptonite, enabling him to return the flag back to base. However, just as it seemed SaS were going to cap the flag Kryptonite off spawn got an amazing clutch semtex kill to stop the flag runner, and then went onto return the flag as well at main doors. Great play by Kryptonite to stop SaS taking the map, forcing it to a stopwatch showdown.

At the end of both halves, it was clear Davey and Stevo were picking up most of the kills for vT, both getting 24 and 25 kills, whilst on SaS it was Jimmany and Ultimate Sam who both claimed 22 and 23 kills each. End score of 2-2.

So, the first half of stopwatch began, and once again both teams showing what they are made of, SaS getting vT four men down and pulling the flag, but not without Stevo managing to pull SaS’s flag as well after over extending, resulting in yet another stalemate situation. Unfortunately for vT, a great two piece by Ultimate Sam enabled him to return the flag to base, allowing Tripl3 Vodka to cap the flag in 2 minutes and 23 seconds.

The second and penultimate half began, and vT went very aggressive, three men rushing the enemy base, and it proved just too much for SaS to handle, resulting in them going two men down, and Stevo speeding away back to his own base with the enemy flag. A nice two piece by Joker stopped SaS on the over extend, and Kryptonite and Davey both worked to take down the last two remaining alive just outside of Dome, resulting in Stevo being able to cap the flag in an impressive 54 seconds!

First map goes to Virtual Talent due to them being able to cap the flag quicker than SaS.

SnD Underground:  2-0 vT

After a very close CTF game, the first round of SnD started, and it was a great start by SaS who has obviously not been deterred from losing the previous map, Jimmany claiming first blood on Stevo, quickly followed by Ultimate Sam taking down Kryptonite after flanking behind him. Davey was also taken down inside of one minute, leaving Joker in an awkward 1v4 situation. He was able to take down Jimmany, only to be killed by Finner immediately afterwards.

Onto the second round and again Jimmany and Ultimate Sam took down Stevo and Kryptonite after a split push by vT. Joker was then able to pick up a nice semtex kill, followed by Davey killing Tripl3 Vodka, and then following it up with a nice headshot on Finner! Joker getting the plant down on A bomb, made it even harder for Jimmany to try and clutch the 1v2 defuse, and was eventually taken down by Joker.

Moving into the third round and it was Joker who obtained first blood on Jimmany rushing through middle, but Davey’s initial push up to A bomb on the defensive side was stopped in its tracks by Tripl3 Vodka. Kryptonite was then able to take down the oncoming rush of Ultimate Sam to B bomb. Stevo picking up his first kill of the map on Finner to leave Vodka all alone at A bomb, who was taken down by Joker awaiting his arrival.

Fourth round started and both teams seemed to play a little more passive this time around, Joker and Stevo simultaneously taking down Finner and Ultimate Sam, allowing Joker to seize the initiative and plant at A bomb. Again Tripl3 Vodka was left all on his own to try and break the four man wall of vT, but was taken down by Kryptonite who was aware of him flanking behind.

vT just needed to win this round to take the map and the match overall, but it wasn’t to be this round as Davey’s rush was faltered by Jimmany who was patiently waiting for him, followed up by Ultimate Sam who was able to pick up a kill on Stevo above B bomb. Kryptonite was then taken down by Finner who was lurking mid map, leaving Joker in a next to impossible situation to clutch a 1v4 defuse. After being surrounded by SaS players, he was able to kill one, but was shot down by a cheeky Magnum kill from Ultimate Sam.

The final round concluded to be the final straw for SaS, thanks to a nicely executed attack on A bomb by vT, leading to Kryptonite taking down Finner for the first kill of the round, quickly followed by a second kill on Tripl3 Vodka who appeared to be in Kamikaze mode, madly rushing the three men of vT at A bomb. With the bomb planted, and a nice setup from vT, Jimmany fell to the hands of Joker, followed by Davey claiming the final kill of the match on Ultimate Sam, whom he had intercepted mid map.

Final score 4-2 vT. Joker was able to finish an impressive 8-2, who was clearly the man being able to lead vT on to win this map.

2-0 overall on maps in favour of vT.

That’s all for this week guys! Hope you enjoyed and come back next week for Week 4’s Round Up! Next week I will be choosing Division One match TLU:M vs Egg:T to write my report on, so if any of the players could put your gameplay’s in your vault so I can watch them back, it would be appreciated. Don’t forget to keep having fun guys and play nice!
